Pigasus Pictures Social Media

BACKGROUND

Pigasus Pictures is an independent film production company built around the ethos that 'Dreams Aren't Dumb.' Its founders started the company with the goal of bringing Hollywood-level productions to their home state of Indiana, supporting local talent and businesses along the way.

The company brought me in to help manage their PR, marketing, and social media activity during the production of their second feature film, Ms. White Light.

HOW I HELPED

While their social media presence existed, there was no clear objective for their activity and no regularity to their posting. I devised a strategy for using the company's Facebook and Instagram presences to help boost brand identity, gain support of their Indiana-made mission, and generate buzz for upcoming projects.

Given the values-driven nature of the company, I devised a promotional strategy that  felt authentic, engaging, and down-to-earth. Given the company's commitment to hiring local talent, it felt essential to highlight these team members and celebrate them. I devised the #PeopleofPigasus series in which a different member of the production staff would get to bask in the spotlight and share their stories. We highlighted everyone from the co-founder and COO, to the makeup team, to the interns.

Insight into the behind-the-scenes movie magic is what most followers want to see from a film company, so in addition to #PeopleofPigasus we shared insight into the filmmaking process of Ms. White Light throughout its filming. Shared every Wednesday, #WhiteLightWednesday would share stills from scenes that had been filmed, sets that had been built, or any production updates that could be shared. Offering this peek behind the curtain proved incredibly popular with followers, and these were often our most engaged-with posts.

Additional activities included merch giveaways and social-based competitions to boost engagement while giving back to fans.

Throughout my 10-month project with the company, we achieved:

  • 400% increase in followers
  • 1,000 new Facebook page likes
  • 10% follower participation for competitions
